Provided with all the power and flexibility that distinguishes every model of the Genesys series, the new Genesys S contains, in one single and powerful instrument, all the functions required for any musical application including studio recording.

Unlike other workstations presently available in the market, Genesys S includes everything you need for almost every application without the requirement to purchase complicated and expensive optional accessories. Set up your own performances then by taking advantage of the exceptional features such as the improved Song Player, direct playback from CD or Hard Disk along with the efficient control panel and the vast number of real time controls, you will be creating music in no time. Preparing demos to a professional studio quality is a breeze. The Genesys S even allows you to record your own voice or other instrument along with the internal 32 track sequencer, and burn the final mix directly to the build in CD-R drive. Using the audio inputs, recording / sampling new sounds, editing them with the sophisticated synthesis functions allows you to create your own personal Sound Library to suite you’re ever changing needs.

Here you will find the most realistic and expressive sounds we have ever created, accurately sampled and organized in ready-to-use presets: excellent acoustic piano sounds, every kind of electric and digital piano sound, orchestral, traditional sounds, modern and vintage synths, with absolutely realistic drum and percussion sounds. 256 Factory Presets and 256 user locations (both organized in 16 Sound Families each) are available, directly accessible from the control panel for instant recall.Within these Sound Families you will find our unique Real Sounds: sounds created by our acclaimed musical team with total realism in mind. By sampling the specific characteristic effects of a variety of electrical or acoustic instruments, for example the slide effect of the fingers on the strings of an acoustic guitar, the natural vibrato of a sax, the typical dynamic and ambient effects and more, provide a new level of expressive realism. Styles from all over the world for any musical genre The automatic arranger section and the styles included in GEM workstations have always been regarded as the best in the industry. From modern dance to jazz, lounge, pop ensemble, rock, heavy metal to Latin rhythm, from classical orchestras to traditional music it’s all there! 256 Factory Styles are provided; each one comprised of up to eight parts and divided into different Style Families according to the musical genre. The controls for the arranger section have also been positioned for quick and easy operation. Every single style includes different musical arrangements, from basic to the most sophisticated, using various sections and useful playing functions: 4 x Intros, 4 x Endings, 4 x Variations, Fill In and Fill To, Syncro/Restart, Fade In/Out, Tempo Lock and Style Lock, Bass Inversion are standard. Each style offers four Style Presets which provide appropriate and fast sound settings for the selected style with the added possibility to memorize additional (user) sound settings. In addition to factory Styles there are 64 programmable User Locations that can be loaded from floppy disk or CD or created by you onboard. The Style Tools section includes a series of functions that change the accompaniment according to your play mode: in particular the Dynamic Arrangement allows you to control the dynamic volume of the entire style while playing. The Music Library provides the easiest and quickest way to adapt the Genesys S to a particular style arrangement according to a popular song or to a particular genre. With more than 96 set-ups with direct access, you have a tremendous resource under your fingertips. Song Player / Recording Studio When it is time to perform, or if you just wish to enjoy yourself, the Song Player/Recording Studio will become the key. GEM workstation has always provided the most powerful and complete sequencer and Genesys S is no exception! Together with 32 tacks and 250.000 recordable events, the sequencer offers sophisticated edit functions that will allow you to completely elaborate every track, note by note if you wish. The complete integration between MIDI events and audio signal is seamless. This means that you can play a song, a MP3 or a style and record it in audio format, adding the signal of your voice to create the final master mix, which you can then burn to CD or save on the Hard Disk. Within the Recording Studio, the Vocal Remover functions allow you to process a .wav audio file (for example your favourite artist’s song) eliminating the solo singing voice and subsequently record your voice, or sing over the top of the audio file, without loosing the original sound of the recording. The Song Player is a real multimedia player capable of playing a vast range of formats: MIDI files, (0,1 & 1 + Lyrics), .kar files, WordBox©, PianoDisk©, Doc©, Disklavier©, MP3 and MP3+Lyrics, Audio CD, WAV Audio (44.1K, 16 bit mono or stereo) and GEM WK/SK or WX/SX Songs. Thanks to an intelligent configuration of the spacious display, it is possible to have a clear and complete view of the files structure acquired from the various peripherals like floppy disk, HD, CD, RAM and the optional SCSI. CD Burner and Hard Disk The Genesys was the first arranger keyboard to offer a built in CD-R drive, expanding our already impressive list of industry firsts and continuing our dedication of providing unique, innovative functions for our worldwide customers. In addition to recording, if you’re a professional that needs a large library ready to go, direct from CD play options or the ability to back up a great amount of data will be welcomed. A must for a workstation in this category is an internal hard disk. The Genesys S built-in 20 GB hard disk will allow you to store any kind of file, from MIDI files to MP3, from GEM songs to .wav samples and Hard disk digital recordings. With the Genesys S your musical creativity can start immediately. The included CD that will come packaged with the instrument, includes more than 1.000 popular songs, all optimized for the Genesys. These may be copied to the internal hard disk to free the CD player for other functions. Control panel provides easy and fast access Direct access to every section of the instrument and the possibility of having each controlled by hand was the main objective during the study of the design of the control panel layout. A fundamental role is played by the spacious graphic display that offers a clear and complete view of all operations at any time. Allowing the simplest possible navigation thought the various menu pages if required. The display provides a perfect visualization of the Karaoke style lyrics or notation as well. Connecting the Genesys S to a TV or to any monitor provided with S-SCART or S-Video connection, it is possible to visualise the notes, chords or lyrics of the songs on large screens. By simply pressing one of the six Keyboard Mode buttons (Full, Split, Accompaniment Split, Piano Style, Manual Bass and Pro Split) it is possible to immediately change the instrument settings according to the personal way of playing. Two modes are mainly dedicated to the execution with no automatic accompaniments, while four are used by the Arranger section. Need memory? The Genesys S has as much as 1.024 Memories divided in 128 banks. The Volume Sliders allow direct control of the volume for every section or part played including the parts of a style, or the tracks of a song and the level of a CD, MP3 or a Wave file. The Style/Seq slider controls the general level of MIDI files tracks or of the internal sequencer ones, allowing a quick and easy balance with the sound played by the keyboard. Vocal Genius and effects processor The Vocal Genius section is a powerful and exclusive processor that adds effects to the voice or to an instrument connected to the audio input. It is composed of two separate sections: the Effects section, that allows you to control 3 different effects applicable to the audio signal (reverb, delay and compressor) and the Harmony section, that adds up to four parts perfectly harmonized. The two sliders Mic and Genius allows you to control independently the level of the audio signal from a microphone, or any other instrument connected to Genesys S and the level of the four harmonized melody lines which are generated by the Vocal Genius. The internal presets are enhanced by a vast range of high quality digital effects, divided in two groups of DSP, each with 24 reverb and 32 modulation effects. All are programmable and freely assignable to the internal sounds or to sequencer tracks. The reverb presets include Hall, Concert, Chamber, Room, Vocal, Plate, Church, Mountains, Falling and Early. The modulation effects include Delay, Dubbing, Ping-Pong, Chorus, Ensemble, Phaser, Flanger, Pan Mix, Distortion, Pitch Shifter, Rotary and Equalizer. Get Connected Equipped with many type of connection, including 4 programmable Pedal inputs, Genesys S can provide the real time control over a great number of functions. The optional Multipedal unit provides 6 switches. They can totally control, in real time, the main playing parameters of the instrument. It is also possible to connect up to three Multipedal units providing a maximum of 18 programmable switches. MIDI Genesys S features the most complete MIDI section anyone can desire: 2 In, 2 Out, 2 Thru and the possibility to use up to 32 separate channels offering the maximum flexibility for connection to any MIDI instrument.
