Specifications
From 1970 to 1981, over 13,000 MinimoogsTM were built: thank you, Dr. Moog! That would seem to be a lot of units, but in hindsight it was not enough. Many more people wanted it, but missed out for whatever reason.
If you missed out, no problem – here is yours! OK, it's not the original. But Minimax ASB is as close as you can get. The Sound: digitally re-mastered down to each detail. A full fat, dynamic Filter, which provides grip, keeps you and your sound warm, whistles like a teapot on a steam oven, and still knows about the truth behind over-modulation.
Also included: Oscillators with wide tires, deep tread, and brute output. Speedy Envelopes. Twelve voices, almost as powerful as two MemorymoogsTM. BTW: of course Minimax ASB is completely programmable (with memories to boot!).
Best of all: Minimax ASB not only sounds like a MinimoogTM – you can also really play it like one live. Every pot and every control of the role model is in place. And, via Remote Software, you will find further features, which were previously unavailable.
Three Oscillators, one Mixer (which also injects white or pink noise if desired), one Filter, two ADS-envelopes, Oscillator- and Filter-FM, Feedback (if you need to be a tick more nasty from time to time) – this is the essence of what made the MinimoogTM an all-time classic.
So is the Minimax ASB: Clone is Clone is Clone.
It should be a public secret, that such apparently spartanic setting couldn·t prevent concert halls being transformed into a sea of sparkles. The Minimax ASB captures all the essence, and goes beyond. For example, Velocity controls for Filter and VCA, 128 phat Presets and as many memory spaces for your own creations.
And of course, Effects: Chorus, Flanger, Delay.
OK, since 1970 times have changed. Aftertouch, control of filter cutoff and volume? Check, thanks to the remote software. And the Audio Input? Can be utilized as emergency room for your floppy Rompler. The SOUND makes it all possible. Strip Lacquer? Bark trees? De-frost the Baikal Sea? Try it with the Minimax. You may just succeed!
Audio Examples
| Full Fat Sounds for burning solos? Of course. Moog-Bass? From who else? But take note: the Minimax ASB has even more skills than the famous role model. Thanks to the twelve voices, also creamy textures and luxuriant pads are part of the equation now. Want proof? Just listen. Minimax ASB Sound Examples Here are a selection of songs and sound examples. All sounds coming from the MINIMAX ASB. NOTE: quality loss due to MP3 reduction; it sounds way BETTER than these files! |
