Audioquest OptiLink Pro conforms to the "ST" standard created by AT&T. Equipment supplied with "ST" standard sending and receiving circuitry will almost always provide superior performance over equipment with only Toslink connectors and circuitry. Whether to use "ST" optical connections or coax cable will require individual evaluation.

While AT&T created the "ST" standard, there are many companies making cables and connectors that conform to this standard. All "ST" cables are good because the standard specifications are quite strict. OptiLink Pro is the result of an excessive development process and is better than any other "ST" cable we know of.
